Is physiotherapy covered by pet insurance?
Most providers include or have the option to add-on physiotherapy to their policy. In most cases, this has to be carried out by a qualified therapist and has to be recommended by your vet.
Different insurance plans offer cover for different treatments and it is very important to check the policy details as the cover varied a lot. Shop around until you find a policy that’s best for you and your pet. Not having insurance means you may not be able to afford essential medical treatment if your pet becomes ill or injured.
Most of the insurers will include the amount covered In the total vet limit but all need to be recommended by a veterinary surgeon. Also most only cover registered physiotherapists including ACPAT physios. Please read the policy document and the policy wording before buying as these can change.
Below, we outline the most popular insurers and the number of physiotherapy sessions or amount covered.
What is the difference between lifetime pet insurance and maximum benefit cover?
